Art Therapy is for everyone
I use art therapy directives along with DBT and EMDR to help you build a more supportive relationship with your brain, and practice working with your emotions instead of fighting against them. So much in the world impacts our ability to find calm and balance, and therapy provides a safe space to reassess your personal values and tune into your internal strengths. Art making in therapy can help provide clarity and focus through safe expression of big or difficult emotions and stressful experiences, provide an outlet for stress and anger, and help guide us through learning our patterns and how to make effective changes.
I graduated with my Masters in Art Therapy from School of Visual Arts in 2012 and spent the next 10 years in residential treatment settings providing support to children, adolescents, and their families navigating mental health, trauma, difficult family situations, and unsafe coping mechanisms. I opened my private practice in 2020 and work primarily with those seeking support in better understanding parts of their identity and/or big life changes.
Personally, I am a lover of art, music, and the outdoors and I live with my wife, dog, and 2 children in the Hudson Valley.
